Hello
I would like to make a diorama and I look for any pictures of typical convoy in iraq in 2003-2005. I want use 6 or 8 vehicles but I don't known what was a typical structure of this convoy ( how many vehicles will be as escort for the rest). I have M923's, M998's (converted to gun truck). I want put M1078 truck too.
Thank You for any help.

Searching photo hosting websites like Webshots or Flickr for "iraq convoy" or "oif convoy" should yield interesting pics...
These are from Webshots (just a few among many !) :
If you ever decide to change your mind about the number of vehicles in your dio :

That is going to be a very large diorama, even if it were in 1/72 scale. As Frenchy's picture shows a convoy lined up ready to head out, you're talking 3 to 4 feet long. Once they start rolling, and they space out you could figure 7 feet long or more. I've Started a series of diorams and vignetts depicting a Desert Storm , US convoy passing a knocked out Iraqi convoy. I divided it up into 5 parts, (more like 5, 3D photos) that way I don't have to include all the open space between vehicles. I've finished two and 1/2 dioramas, and have the two vignettes left to do. Just an idea on how to tackle a large project. Jerry

Usually, the Minimum Escort was a section of 4 Armed HMMWV, either M1114, M1151, or M1025. for normal Patrol Ops using same a Minimum 3 Vehicle grouping was used in 2004-2005, in Baghdad TAOR.
