can anyone point me in the direction of 5.56mm U.S. ammo boxes, which in 1/35th scale would be:

Length just over 8mm.

Depth 5.5mm approx.

Width 4.5mm approx.

It is rather urgent I get an answer to this if at all possible. Thanks.

Back in the late 80's and if my memory is correct, the 5.56mm stripper clip bandoleers came in the same size ammo can as the 7.62mm ammo cans.

Thanks for the effort Paul, but these are larger than the 7.62mm ammo boxes as I have them as well.

As Gary said the "linked" 5.56mm comes in .30 cal ammo liners (can).
The 30 cal has a foam rubber base on the inside (as do the rest) but the same material that is used for the base is also used as a spacer to fit the 5.56mm a bit better.
The 50 cal sized liner have clear plastic bags of 200 loose rounds.
All of the liners will have what type of ammo is in it. Eg,

300 5.56MM CARTRIDGES
LINKED 4 BALL 2-1 TRM25
FUNCTIONAL LOT 6**********
DATE *****

Most of the markings are of a NATO standed but can change at any time.
Hope that helps Darren.

Cheers Jason

As per Frenchy's pic. That's the only way I've seen them come. I've seen them come in bandoleers and in 20 round cartons. I don't recall ever seeing them in 7.62 style cans. Jerry
