G'day all .. was just wondering if anyone knew what colour an M4 Sherman/M7 Priest engine bay for a radial engine would be? As a matter of fact, what colour was the engine?

I've only seen two examples of an an M4 engine bay. The first was painted OD and the other was a dark grey color.
I'm sure others will chime in.

The Tankograd Publishing website has a couple of black and white photos of M7 engine compartment on the page for their M7 Priest Tech Manual. Looks like compartment was painted white when new. How long would that last ?? Looks like a great book, if I ever decide to do a M7 I'll probably get it. Thats all I got....Jim

The engine bay is white, the engine looks mostly like semi-gloss black enamel for the cowling behind the cylinders.
