Hello and welcome. Today i have started building caterpillar D9R. Since there is no kit avaliable (or i don't know about it) i have bought small toy at Toys'r'us, about 1:50, 1:52 scale and i will use it as a base for scratchbuild. I can estimate that i can get about 85%,90% accurate, but it still won't be perfect. I will have to use a lot of styrene sheets and even more putty.
Ok here we go:

Hello i have made a bit progress, everything will look much better when i will cover it with a base paint. The easy part is done, now the hard one.

Hi Adam
You migt want to have a look at the build my late dad (BARV) done about 2 years ago,
1/35th scale scratchbuild.

Not something for the faint hearted.

This is so cool mate, to scratchbuild this beast from plans only is very impressive. I have put my toy "update" on hold so far, i have mentally died after trying to build proper tracks.

I can't see your pictures.
As I know there is a copy in resin already avaiable and cost more than 100 euro.
In any case I also built a 1:35 D9N following the great Barv
and I started to scratch build a D9R if you like you can see some pictures below.
