Hi guys apart from the colour, is there anything different between the USMC uniform and the US army uniform during World War 2?
Would master box D-day figures be a base for conversion into Marines?
Thanks
Martyn

Completely different form, material, color and everything else you can think of.
Here's a useful site covering USMC Uniforms:
http://www.mujweb.cz/kultura/usmc/uniformE.htm
No way can U.S. Infantry be converted into USMC figures - only similarity was the weaponry & helmets. For a USMC set, you have to get a specific one such as this:

Yeah there is a lot of difference:
The marines in combat wore two different types of uniform a basic herribone twill uniform:

http://www.atthefront.com/us_uni_usmc_trou__main.jpg
or a camouflage uniform

they also wore a camouflage helmet cover with either uniform

they wore their own made boots

they also had their own webbing gear

where as the infantry wore http://www.atthefront.com/uspackage_infantryfront.jpg
Hope this helps

Hi
I think that you can use the Dragon 2nd Armoured Infantry figure's as USMC as long as you change the Doughboy (haversack)on there backs. otherwise there wearing the HBT style of clothes. The basic equipment belts etc are then the same. You could also you them as Army infantry in the Pacific if you dont want USMC as the Army did serve there as well.
