Hi All,

Entered these in the Big Cats campaign. Had a big commission job on with these included and so the timing for the campaign was super ...... Also chucked in a pic of the completed commission.

cheers
Brent

Hi Brent,

I see you've created yourself something on an army there!

Excellent work at such a small scale -- I've seen (and made!) less realistic 1/35th scale models. Thanks for sharing

Cheers,
Ian

Very inspiring Brent. Your first photo of the series is amazingly nearing that of a picture of the real thing!!!

Hi matey,

Its all pretty simple really, a sheet of card, white paper and one, occaisionally 2 lights. I prefer fluros as its easier to colour correct if required. The plan this year is to set up something a bit more permanent and with three lights so I can just take the model for the bench and put it straight under to get better SBS pics ........

cheers
Brent

In a few of the photos, tI think that there's a subtle amount of "curvature of field", which is par for the course with certain lenses, including some fast zooms and short focal length lenses.

The best way to avoid that is to use a longer focal length lens (Canon and Sigma have excellent macro lenses in the 90mm-100mm range), and set the camera farther back from the subject. Of course, your depth of field may be lessened, so some experimenting is in order.

There is 'de-curving' software available to remove the curvature too....but I have not ever used such software.

regards

Derek
