I'm currently researching a dio for a proposed Market Garden campaign. I can find absolutely nowhere how items were packed in metal drop containers used by British airborne forces or what they actually contained in relation to ammo etc. Anyone shed any light on the subject?

A Welbike would be an interesting load for one. There's one available in 1/35, if that is the scale you're doing. In "British Airborne Forces" Osprey? I think there a few views of some opened containers and their contents. I don't have access to it right now though.

Hi Karl,
D Day Parratroopers (The Canadian, Brish and Frence) by Jean Bouchery should give you all you need to know.
Resicast do the containers and Plus Models do the wicker panniers that were also used.
