In what form? Packed, open, deployed and laying on the ground (Post use)?
Packed you may have luck. Deployed you'll have to scratch.

sorry, my goal is to have a paratrooper stuck in a tree. his parachute would be open and used and stuck in the tree with him.

i am thinking of making one using those stupid plastic figures that you have to tie the string to. they have plastic parachutes and you throw them in the air and they parachute down. i dont know what they are called or if they even have a name. you can get them for maybe 25 or 50 cents in the candy machines. i am not sure how accurate i can get it to look though

Try to get some info about size of chute you want to show. Than scale it and use a paper tissue and thread (synthetics rather than cotton) to scratch it. While hangin on the tree the shape or construction error may not be visible.

Paper tissue is easy to model with a little of water and white glue. It also is thin enough to simulate silk or other thin materials - good old hanky will help you in every situation .

man - I have to get cought up on features. I have a feature where the member took a baloon and laid kitchen plastic (I think) over it and then PVA glue/water mix.
I'll try to find those photos.

Scott,

could that have been the feature by Envar ? He was/is a master in creative issues.

Mike, I did a supply chute in the hedgerows. I have not been able to post pics for some reason but if you go to the 2008 amps show on line, you can see part of it. it's about half way down the page. all I did was lay out string of a suitable size and laid out a partial parachute I pre cut out of tissue over the hedgerows. a good coating of white glue and water mixture , let dry and paint.

Danny,
Good to see you - - I know Envar did one of these. I have a more recent one from a newer member.

Have you spoken with Envar recently?
