I bought the GS 500 Surfacer. It puts a beautiful prime coat on the experimental piece of plastic I tried it on. However, the paint brush is ruined. How do you get it off the brush? Can you airbrush it? If so, what is the recommended remover?
thanks

Anyone have experience using Gunze Sanyo 500 Surfacer? If so, can you tell what solvent to use to remove from a brush.
thanks

Shaun--thank you. The GS is really neat to use and see the results. I filled in the various hull holes on my Tamiya KV1C with white putty then used 500 to level the natural droop. Works great. I want to spary it, but all advice recommend the 1000 vice the 500.
thanks once again for the informative link.

DJ - I used plain old Lacquer Thinner to clean my stipple brushes after using GS 500 and 1000.

Hi

I use regular old non-scented thinner to clean the brush. Actually, I have a couple of brushes dedicated to Mr. Surfacer and other gunk, so I don't worry about them getting perfectly clean.

I gather the best thinner for that stuff is Lacquer thinner, as Gunnie uses.

Funny how little English is on those bottles! I'm surprised it's legal to sell them without details on the solvent etc.

Cheers
Andy

My Friends - - I thank you for your insights. The GS 500 is impressive. Did a great job on the underside of the Tamiya KV 1 I am building.
thanks again

Thinner is good for cleaning, but I've found that Mr. Surfacer sometimes stays on the brush. I picked up the Gunze Mr. Thinner- formulated to thin Mr. Surfacer and clean brushes.
I set aside a few brushes for Mr. Surfacer use-

Amigo--did you try sprying the surfacer? I understand the 1000 is better, but my fear is that I will truly screw-up my new spray gun.
Thanks
