Prompted by an off the cuff comment elsewhere on this site (jokingly about an Abrams with a Balkenkreuze on it !),it set my mind to thinking about a scenario that might find a use for the odd Abrams that you might have laying about in your stashes.Whilst the following hypothetical news report is not meant to in anyway cause offence i have used names to ground it in reality and to wet your appetites for something different.

Reuters (AP) 4th April 2009 :- Today Congress has announced a resolution that will allow the Third Reich to Purchase refurbished M-1 Abrams Main Battle Tanks from Army/General Dynamics stocks.
Whilst this proposal was met with initial opposition,President Obama overulled any dissent saying "this sale to Germany will bring much needed international currency and will allow their ongoing struggle against communist Russia to continue".
Reichschanceller Angela Merkel,victorious from her second win as Germany`s first women Premier has been quoted as saying "this deal can been seen as a thawing of relationships between out two great nations,something not seen since Great Britain was defeated and the signing of the America/Germany accored signed in 1943".
Deliveries are set to commence in late 09/early 10.

Hi Squeeky, I like the idea of a balkenkreuz on a Abrams (or on an other US-made afv). About the camo ? How about a modern version of the "Octopus"camo - straight lines & square "tentacles" - or some kind of tigercamo (ol' us-army uniform camo Viet Nam era )Grtz Eddy

A modern Twist on the Octopus camo sounds great, or some sort of modern urban camo somthing on the lines of the British Berlin camo with different colours. Maybe US woodland with German colours Dunkegelb, Braun and Olivgrun
