Well, first at all a introduction... My name is Igor, I'm from Curitiba, South of Brazil. I'm registred here in Armorama since 2005, I guess, and never ever made a single post. Just because all the works and projects here are really far beyond in quality that anything that I can archive. But be sure, that is one of my favorite foruns, and I'm always suprise and inspired by the dioramas posted here.
And, by forehand, sorry for any mispelling.. I lived in California in 2005/06, but my english is getting some rust...
Well, this is a work-in-progress project, for a build group of a brazilian Forum, and itīs taking a lot of positive feedbacks, so I decide to post some of I have done so far, to see what you guys think about.
Itīs a scene in Bourgogne, France. A read a book some time ago about wines and WW2, called "Wine and War", of Don and Petie Kladstrup, about the "battle" of the french wine makers to keep their "treasure" from the Nazi hands... I work in a Thai restaurant, we sell a lot of wine over there, so, I think that would be a good idea to keep to passions in one project!
so far, I get this:
the building would be something like this:
and a second level, a "cave" - a kind of basement for wine storage, like this:
and some german soldiers searching the place.
I don't like to work in a straigth line, so I'm working in some furniture:
and in a staircase as well:
that a lot of mistakes to get fixed on this one...
and some "wood" in the floor...
hope you enjoy!
Any comment and feedback is more that welcome!!
best regards!

Hi Igor,
Welcome,
You notice perhaps that you get a lot of feedback from French speaking modellers, is that because of there love of wine?
Good work until now. I would think that use of real wood to make the wooden floor would be an easier choice, for cost and for painting. Nontheless, well done.
Also, i don't know if it is only a typo for this thread, but you may add a second "L" into Allemagne, that's how it is written in french.
Cheers
Claude

@calvin: can you belive it or not, but itīs my first attempt in "complex" scrathbuilding... and I have a lot more to come... thanks!
@Chris: thank you! the wine itīs more for the nice sunday than for the dio itself, but itīs good to keep the mood. The end of this project is schedule to 7/14, so I have a lot of time to work on it.
@Jean: the wood is painted in many tones of yellow/brow, than a coat of Bitumen paste (I donīt know if this is the same product use in Europe an US). Itīs realy good to simulate old wood and oil stains...
@milvehfan: thank, friend!
@Pat: lol, thanks... AS I said, just a glass of Port for a good afternoon modeling! As I can see, you from Dublin... I just love Irish history and culture, and I have some plans for a dio about the Easter Rising...
@Alexandre: thanks!!! This reagion produces the outstanding Chambertin, right? never had the chance to taste it, but itīs really famous wine!
I keep the "Bourgogne" insted of "Burgundy" 'cuz itīs how we use here in Brazil... and sounds better!
@Claude: first at all, I'm a "silent fan" of you work! I spend a lot of time reading and re-reading you topics. The castle itīs just breath-taking...
well, I guess the guys from France loves their soil and history... I belive the wine comes with the package!
About the real wood, I use in other dioramas, but in this one I realy want to try new materials and ways to build...
and you right about the "L", mistyping
and today some few progress, 'cuz I was finishing a King Tiger for other build group:
i forgot to say, all the walls are from lefts of MDF...
thanks for all the comments!!!
best regards!
