doe's anyone know if the 1936 web gear used by U.S. infantry (at the begining of the Korean war) is the type that slides onto the web belt or if it is the wire type that fits in the gromlet holes. What I need to know is if the ammo pouchs would ride up on the belt as you kneel to fire or would they bunch up under your coat and leg. I'm having a fit problem and need to know if I should cut down pouchs or attach them riding higher. any help is appreciated, thanks.

Hi
The US troops were still using a lot of WW2 (Tan )kit in the Korean war. You would be OK with having the hook type of belt & equipment.
Even the late war type of kit ( M43 Green )hooked on.
hope this helps.
