Hi
for the moment, i am researching about airborne gliders and glider infantry.
i am going to build 3 Waco Hadrian Gliders, 1/35.
I have started with the first one, and got som good reference, but i am always looking for better details about this glider.
for the moment, i don't have so much info about glider infantry eguipment, how they were equipped, what weapons used, what uniforms. 13 soldiers could this glider have plus 2 pilots,
do anyone knows more about Table of Organisation and Equipment (TOE) for glider infantry??
Cheers Wendros

A glider infantry squad until December 1944 had 12 men each armed with the M1 Garand rifle. After December a BAR replaced 1 rifle. 1 rifleman would have had a grenade launcher.
Two infantry platoons (3 after Dec 44) made up a company along with a weapons platoon that had two 0.30 cal M1919A4 Browning machine guns and 2 60mm mortars. The battalion had 8 Jeeps each with a M1917 Browning machine gun team (not used from the vehicle), 6 jeeps with 81mm mortar teams and 3 Jeeps towing 57mm M1 anti-tank guns.

I have a book here, "Airbone Glinderman of Neptune", by Charles J. Masters. there I could find that they looks much like the regular paratroopers:
"Each glinderman cloathing and equipment consisted in a pair of pants, leggings and shirts impregnated against gas, a field jacket with a small American flag sewn in the right sleeve, a steel helmet with camouflage net, boots, gas mask, and a pack. The pack contained a raincoat, a shelter half, a pair of cotton underwere, a pair of socks, a tootbrush, a mess kit, shaving equipment and a towel, chewing gums, box of maches, and water purification tablets. Finally, each gliderman was insued cartrige belt of amrmor-piercing ammunition, a bandolier of ammunition, two hand-granades, one smoke-granade, two anti-tank granades, an M1 rifle, a bayonet in a scabbard, a trench knife, a first aind kit with morfine, three K rations, six D rations, and a canteend of water. (Those) who were part of the mortar teams were insued with .45 caliber automatic (sic), with 90 rounds of ammunition insted of the M1. Some glinderman were insued a Mae West life jacket"
this book is good, with amazing pictures...
I hope this can help a bit!

Okay I normally don't post but I thought I'd be useful. Glider Infantry wore standard Infantry Uniforms. The only difference would be the Airborne Insignia on their shoulder and the glider badge on their service cap. Other than that they had standard combat boots, uniform, and helmet. A Waco could hold up to 15 men but it appears that they only had from 2-8 men on each in the documents I am looking at.

All parts you see, fuselage, framework wing is from scratch,
The Waco in the background picture is a papermodel in 1/33, from Poland
But i only use it for reference for some of my parts, that i modify to 1/35 scale
And it is a really good help,
here is a link for more info
