Putting the finishing touches on my Dragon late PTO USMC Sherman and noticed there is no feature for the radio antenna (just a plastic "nipple" on the turret where I presume there should be some sort of mast drilled out). Does anyone have some close-up photo(s) of the beastie?

Also, what is the scale length? I have used guitar string to replicate radio aerials in the past, but don't know the proper dimensions here. I know the Brit versions had a fancy base to the antenna.

Hey Bill:
Got a couple pics of PTO sherman antennas, I had the same dilemma
For the SCR 508 9 foot whip antenna = 2.743 m or 79mm in scale
Apparently the 10 foot antennas were in 3 x 3.3' sections (1/35 scale 2.9cm each section), note the 2 connection joints

How do you add photos?

Hi, Jamie, you need to use a hosting service like Photobucket (free to you) and then upload them. Once uploaded, you can post the photos here using the following HTML code in your post:

(open square bracket)img(closed square bracket)http://put.url.of your photo here/image-name.file-typ(open square bracket)/img(closed square bracket)

Just replace the "(square bracket)" parts with the correct brackets:

[ (open square bracket)
] (closed square bracket)

I was looking at mine and wondering the same thing. I have an antenna base left over from my M10 and was considering that.

Here are a couple of photos that show the aerial, for reference only.

Both are from Peleliu. I can't tell what is on the left side of the turret in the first photo.
