Dear Colleagues,

20 years ago I bought a Tamiya T34-76 and I didn't find the time to finish it until now... Following the advice of some colleagues in the forum I bought friul metal tracks to improve the final result and the Eduard Model kit for the T34.
I'm just starting with the painting and weathering of the kit in winter camo, so, any help will be greatly appreciated!

Just starting with the tracks, I just painted them with vallejo acrylics chocolate brown (simulating mud) but now what? Shall I paint it also with gun metal? Or just standard rust from MIg pigments...

I am painting the tank with tamiya dark green XF-61 and then with Tamiya flat white.

Sorry about this questions, that someone may find silly, but I've been nearly 20 years out of the "business"

Thanks in advance for your help!

Painting Friuls sort of takes away their #1 advantage: they weather like real metal (their #2 is the "sag" you get, especially on tanks like those of the Wehrmacht). You use "Blacken It" to etch the white metal and they look quite realistic. I then use washes and pigments to add things like dirt and rust.

If you decide to remove the paint, Windex or other amonia-containing window cleaner will remove acrylic paints.

And if you stick with the paints, then, yes, pigments are the next step along with some dry brushing on the parts that have contact with other metal.
