Hi all,
I originaly posted this in Scratchbuilding but it seems a little quiet over there at present...
I'm planning a small(ish!) diorama in 1/6 and I want to create a stone block wall effect. My initial thoughts are to use plaster in some form as I am used to it and think it gives a good stone effect.
The walls would be approx 4ft by 3ft and I am looking to create an effect similar to my 1/48 project here:

What would you advice be on how best to achieve this?
I have wondered about using the same teqhnique I used in the 1/48 project - ehich was to cast plaster onto a hardboard base.
I wondered if I could use DIY-type plasterboard but the one in my local store seems to have a paper covering, rather than a raw plaster surface.
Other than that I have wondered about polystyrene but that would be new to me.
Whatever I use needs to be reasonably lightweight but also robust enough not to warp and crack.
Any thoughts/suggestions would be welcome...
Many thanks!
A
