Now here is a freshly painted M163 (a motor pool boss’s dream). Any comments (too unrealistic etc) on the cammo pattern?

Thanks

Looks good, what is mostly needs now is a wash to even out the surface and tone it down. Just ensure you don't use a similar based washed (i.e. enamel wash over an enamel paint job) or you may end up eating away at your paint job.

Hi Rob

Thanks, I didn't want to go any further until I knew the pattern and colour was fair to realistic. The green looks more like the colour you find inside fighting vehicles. Origianlly it mixed as a nice light sand, but dried to 'this' colur.

Nice replication on the desert pattern camo! The unit bumper markings should have a field drab (brown) background with black lettering/numerals, and the "US ARMY" and serial number would have been in black as well, on both forward, upper sides of the hull.
I've always liked this particular pattern most, but after living in them for five years, I guess they grow on you!
