Hi!
i normally post over on HF but as this is a 35th figure i thought i would show it here too..
i received Alpine figure 35064 recently and having picked the head for that figure I plonked the spare onto the figure i'm doing from dragons Vistula-oder 1945 set.
i'm now pretty convinced that spare heads onto stock figures in this scale is a must... i got 3 sets of hornet ones and they are stunning!
so i will be posting a few more figures in this scale
...... so far i'm pretty happy with the head and sort of round the jacket opening, still some work on the white outer parka and webbing.

Hey mate looking really good!
Love the paint work. Any chance you could get the gun to sit lower into his left palm?

hi guys
Dave... i will try the hands at some point but as this fig is designed to hold this gun it's a reasonable fit
Brad.... the gun is still to fit properly as i have the webbing and chest area to work on. should sit firmly in the hand when finally fitted
Jaymes... cheers mate i'm an armour modeler of old so i will still post here every now and again. i used acrylics with my usual GW flesh paints, and it was heads
James... on this fig i will have some progress tommorow, i have been working some on other stuff and putting hair on Hornet heads uuugh!

Jaymes...
for the skin i always put Dark flesh down as my base then add glaze layers of Dwarf flesh till i get the mid tones looking ok.
i then put Regal blue washes round the beard line and in the eye sockets then do washes of blood red on the nose, lips, cheeks and ears.
then do the high lights with Elf flesh ( using the dwarf flesh as a feathering glaze to break any really hard edges) and a final tiny application of AV Light flesh
if the shadows are a bit mushy i will do little washes into the deep creases of the Dark flesh and might use the Dwarf flesh to warm up the high lights.
the main thing i like is to keep the paint really thin, like milk, and build layers gradually....
i hope that makes sense?
:)

Hi Mark,
Nice work!
Adding AM heads, be it Hornet, spare Alpine (anyone else wishing Taesung would release a few head sets?), or other definitely adds that extra bit of class to a figure.
Mark: don't forget to add the over belt loops for the map case. Personally I'm not keen on the positioning though - but then again I'm also not wild about having the family knocked by a bag/case/whatever with every stride I take

Mark, looks really good Im a big fan of both alpine and hornet, ultracast make some great commonwealth stuff as well, a bit smaller in scale. Once you start swapping heads out you just cant go back, and as much as like resin figs, its nice to get by without the $15-$20 price tag sometimes.

Rudi! ..... i pretty much copied the figure from the box art and it does seem an odd place to hang it ( mind they recon a small bible can stop a bullet so maybe its worn as protection LOL ) ... the belt buckle is missing as well as the map case loops i should have spotted that sooner
Eric .... yeah they add a touch of refinement to an injection figure, i'm converted
calling this finished!
made the base from 3 disks of lite-ply cut with an olfa circle cutter ( tip.... mark the centre drill 1mm hole right through, spot of superglue either side... leave 1/2 hour, hole will not wear bigger! ) glued with white glue and brayed a nail through, used that in a mini drill to sand, fill and sand again!
snow is bicarb using white glue and klear to stick it down
:)
