Sorry if this is a repeat - I originally posted this in general modeling - going to try here:
I was hoping some of the Australian armor fans out there could help me with some confusion: I bought the Trumpeter ASLAV-25 kit the other day at my local shop; looked in the box and thought the molds and PE looked great. When I got home, I read a very informative review by Jason Miller (thanks for the info!) and thus began my quest for updating the kit. Here's what I have on order so far: All from Mouse House:
MA117 1/35 ASLAV / LAV / Stryker Platt mount with MAG58
MA129 1/35 ASLAV APC (Type II hull) Phase 3 commanders cupola
MA121 1/35 Australian Pattern ASLAV wheel hubs (8)
I know I need their mesh because it's square and not diamond as depicted in the kit. Did I get the right stuff and is there anything else I could use?
Since I am new to the Aussie Armor subject, I need some help! (I think the three-tone camo was what really attracted me to the subject.)
Thanks!
Felix

G'day Felix,
Your best bet is to post a picture of the ASLAV you would like to do.
As there have been ssoooooo many changes to the Phase III it can be a bit confusing at the best of times.
The links Bill posted will help you out a lot as well.
This part is no good to you unless you are making the Type II PC.
http://www.mheaust.com.au/MHE/ASLAV%20Guide.htm
This link will let you know what products are avalible from Mouse House for each brand of LAV-25 kit.
It will be updated again in the next couple of weeks.
To build the following car from the Trump ASLAV kit, and to make it as accurate as possible, parts required would include,
MA125, MA116, MA121, MA310, MAF800(crew)
Cheers Jason

Wow! Thanks for all the great information. I have some reading and research in front of me, but at least I have (more than) a starting point now.
Thanks again and I will try to post my progress is due time.

I attached a link to an ASLAV from Prime Portal which I liked a lot. I tried to attach the photo, but I had problems so I did the link thing instead. Wondering if this is Phase II?
I also like the one Jason attached - the one above with the turret bar armor.

This is the one I like, in the above link. I have the Echelon decal sheet and will use the flag, too.
Jason, I think I might wait out the update set you are making (I think you are?) for the Trumpeter kit.

Do you have a larger image, it would be easier to build from?

Here's to Mouse House
I have never used Mouse House resin before, so I had no idea what to expect. Today, the above stated products I ordered arrived. Even though I can't use some of the sets for a Phase III ASLAV, I am very pleased to state that this is really nice resin, particularly the wheels. I am very impressed with the quality of the MAG 58 mount set, too. I look forward to purchasing more Mouse House products in the future. Great job!
Cheers,
Felix
p.s. now, if only that Trumpeter ASLAV III set would arrive
