Here are some less than perfect pictures (my camera is only 4 mp) of my current project. There are a few more figs to go on 1 or 2...
The ground does blend well, but the pictures show abrupt changes ugh.
Still some things to do.... need to dust their boots, add the two figs, and a little detail on the tree trunks.

**please do not take this the wrong way- it is meant purely for constructive critisism**
I really like your figures, and your idea is realy great. However, your panther lacks that certain "crispness." It seems a bit sloppy to me (it may just be the photos)
Please dont take it the wrong way, we are here to help!

It might be the camera, he did say it was only 4 mega pix's. The figure "jumping off" the Panther looks too twisted in the hips. Looking at it makes my lower back hurt.
The trees look to "mossy" to me. But that's just my take.
Again, like Belt Fed said, we're here to help.
Overall good job, Rob.

It looks good, the only things that I think might need fixing is what has been already stated.
Good work, and maybe you should get a new camera,
Rich

Hey, Rob! I really do like your figures and the overall layout. What did you use to paint the figs?
Thanks for sharing the photos!

The dismount figure's belt buckle matches his navel. I jump over foundations for a living and well, I thought he was fairly "natural".
As far as the "crispness" of the tank....
Ultimately, my thought is that much of the armor I have seen in actual videos and photos tends to be not crisp at all. In fact most battle hardened armor is quite bashed and rocked. I was watching a video of a panzer IV and the muffler was almost crushed. Mud and junk is not crisp its dirty and nasty and well....
I can take constructive criticism, yes. However, my camera does not do it much justice. The fauna on the tank looks ridiculous in the photos.
I modeled the tank and the detritus on it after much of the historical video I have seen.
I used tamiya acrylics for the figs, and finished with humbrol matt finish.
As far as the trees go....
I made them and IMO they look better than anything I have seen on the shelf before. Again my camera sucks. It seems to blend detail pretty badly and over expose with too much flash. So the trees look mossy, and IMO they look real. I grew up around dougy firs and spruce, and well...
The camera sounds like an excuse. I won't bother posting until I get a better one.

Rob,
Just because the camera sucks doesn't mean you have to stop posting. I've got a 4 Mega Pix's cam, look at my shots.
Try different settings. Go from "Auto" to close-up, Outdoor to Indoor. Down load them into your computer and adjust acorrdingly before posting. You probably already do that.
The works fine, it just the camera sometimes show us things we miss or don't want to see in the builds. I use it as a tool to better the builds. Glue seams are caught the most with the camera, which I don't see any on your build.
The figure, the left leg needs to be more straighten in my looking at it. I to have jumped a wall or three in my time doing construction.
Here's something I read about when posing figures that may help, and you may have read it also.
Have a freind take some photo's of you scaling a wall, jumping off a wall like the figure on the Panther, study them close, and try to copy it in the figure. Action shots are difficult to copy, and your on the right track.
Don't give up the ghost.

Hi Rob. Your camera is good enough. A few years ago, not many cameras were better than this, but still there was good pics. Take your photographs outside with no flash. When you use pastels, the flash washes out the colour, resulting in the branches looking very vivid and the tank looking flat. Its better to use good lighting ... flash does not work for close up images ... period.
I agree with the previous posts ... the mud does not look right on the tracks. It appears to have been too wet when made and not enough texture in it, so it looks like a "goop" that hides the details. Its good to add some sand and static grass into the mix for texture, and less would have been more.
The groundwork, trees and figures look really good. Donīt get too hung up on the angle of the jumping guy. A diorama is a moment caught in time ... look at photo stills ... bodys to have some very weird angles when caught like this. If I was jumping off a Panther, Id try to throw myself as far out as possible in case of getting caught in the runingr gear.

The dude jumping off was modeled with exactly that in mind, clearing the wheels.

Rob, not bad at all. True, add some grass and weeds to the mud in the track, watch a bulldozer on a constrution site. As for the figure jumping clear, maybe the driver just shifted gears up or down throwing his balance off? Been there didn't like the following result too much. The only thing I would watch for is the positioning off the tank in the grass, seems that the torn-up ground is a little too far in front of the track. Easy fix if you care to. Other than that, your pics are better than mine, still can't even post them on armorama. too many glue/paint fumes . Still, I think it's a good piece.
