Hello guys,
What did I do ?
- checked out some reference pics,
- planned and studied the parts of such a lantern,
- cut loose the spare parts I needed,
So in my lantern you can find Sherman M4 parts, Prime Mover M5 stuff, Willys Jeep pieces...
This is what is looks like now (primed and waiting to be colored and weathered), it will have its place in my "Wilkommen !" diorama.
Photos :
I hope you like it ! G.

Guy a hanging lamp would be attached to the handle above its centre of gravity unless this is a design I have not seen before, can you clarify please. That said it does look very good.

Thank you guys.
Darren, I'll see what I can do to fix this, I see your point and it looks a bit strange indeed.
Thanks for telling me ! G.

Hello Darren, I believe this looks better, isn't it ?
Anyways, nobody will even notice the hanging lantern once the diorama is completed !

Guy
I'm sure you get as much pleasure out of creating these scratch built gems as we do at seeing them. Thanks for posting.
A whole lot more creative and satisfying than just buying something off the shelf.
All the best.
Alan

Hello Alan, thank you, this is more fun, it's true.
Only a bit of dusting with pigments is needed, no rust for this time.
Tx for your kind words again ! G.

Excellent work. If we didn't know better, one would assume that was a full size lantern.

I really love it! It looks great (as the rest of diorama)...
One question - is the lightning on last picture natural afternoon sun or is it false light?

I would have done something like this
That said I believe your solution would also work.

Nice little creation. Whenever I see this sort of stuff, I always want to try it myself.
