Hi!
I'm making a sculpture of a german soldier wearing a kharkov anorak. My main problem is that I just found that the MP43/44 was used much later in the war.So the question is, did the karkhov anorak was discarded after 1943?There was no soldier that wore this particular uniform and used the MP43/44?

The Kharkov "parka" was still being worn at the end in 1945.

Thanks for confirming that, Ron.
Paul, generally I don't think much clothing was readily disposed off through the war, particularly cold-weather gear. It wasn't uncommon to find soldiers wearing early and mid-war gear during the latter parts of the war.

Your figure looks good; looking at it it wouldn't be difficult to switch the weapons to the MP-40 and pouches. There was also a late war parka, again easy to change if you want; only real difference is that it buttons all the way to the bottom like a normal coat.

The Fur lined parker you have modelled was issued more to SS units . Heer troops did wear them, but they were much more common with in waffen SS units right up to the end of the war . The fur inside was either whiteish brown or fur brown. It was still very common in Hungary during the failled Konrad operations

@Scott - I checked the difference between the 2 parkas and the main difference is that the right side closes over the left side for the one you recommended. This meaning that I would have to do a lot of work.I keep the option of replacing the MP44 with MP40 open.
@Geraint- Thanks for the tip!I'll search for waffen SS pictures in the late war...maybe I'll spot the fur parka that seems to be so elusive in late 1944 or 1945.

My only suggestion is to make sure he is holding that weapon very securely if he's waving it around like that, the MP44 is a suprisingly heavy rifle, and I think the way he is holding it doesn't quite suggest that. He is not gripping it very tightly, which he would need to be if he was only supporting it with his hand. If he was holding it loosely like you have sculpted it, I'd suggest that the butt would need to be supported on top of the ammo pouch, or his elbow locked into his side perhaps.
Other than that, very nice work indeed.

Outstanding work Paul, if you should decide to make the Parker late war i would love to see it painted up in that Italian three tone camo scheme, Awesome stuff.
On a critical note and please forgive me but i feel this is warranted, the collar and top edge of the hood look to rigid almost like stone, might be an idea to soften these areas by adding a few creases here and there, then again maybe im talking a load of hogwash, Still thats just my opinion and this is Just awesome work Paul! thanks for sharing.

I repositioned the rigth arm and some other things.I still have a lot to do to this figure .
Maybe my next figure.I like all the german winter uniforms. And that is also one of my favorites.
