I have been ordering kits from Lucky Model since December
and i have had no bad expierances to date.
I am very happy with their service and their prices are great.
Now if i can find some time to build all these models.

Horst

Glad you got good service. I tried to order something a couple months ago and waited--and waited-----and waited-----------and waited------------------------------------and waited.......... I never received any updates or was told that the item was not in stock and it would take a certain time frame to acquire. I know that I waited at least 3-4 weeks and nothing happened. I wasn't angry-but felt as if the people running the site were just not very attentive to the fact that my order was just sitting there in the nether regions with not even sending one e-mail describing why there was such a long wait. I finally said that i needed the item and was going to purchase elsewhere. They basically said ok and put my money as a credit toward a future purchase. I personally think they need to organize their "ITEM STATUS". If it doesn't say IN STOCK--don't order unless you have time to wait. I am not denouncing their website--i'm sure they are good people and have a good business, but their online servicing needs some attention. I now have second thoughts about using this company due to my one bad experience.

I sympathize with your results so far.
I guess i am of the mind set that
it gets here when it gets here.
I really have to start cutting some plastic
I think that you would have to agree though
that they have very good pricing even if you have to wait.
anyway thanks for your responce hope it works out in the end.

I had this discussion with an unhappy camper offline:
LuckyModel doesn't monitor the 1000s of items on their website that carefully. Is that wrong of them? Heck, who could keep up with it all? Manufacturer A suddenly decides to discontinue a whole line of products (as Eduard did recently), imagine all the work of going in and immediately deleting those SKUs... You think your models are getting to you slowly now....
A little "common sense" is needed here: first of all, if an item is listed as "available," it means LM doesn't have it in stock. If you have any doubts, email them and ask when they think they'll get a re-stock. If it's an obscure item (e.g., Eduard's PE upgrade for the old DML M46 Patton) and you can't find it anywhere else, what makes you think LM will get it again just because it's on their site?
Finally, if after 6-8 weeks your order still isn't shipped, reach out to LM with an email and say "are you ever going to ship?" If they can't get it, they will cheerfully refund your money or substitute something else.
They've very lovely people to deal with. I don't see anything here but a clash of expectations. A little care and common sense on our part and everyone will be happy.
And no, I don't have any financial connections to LM, I just like their prices and service.

Bill--I wasn't beating up their site--if they want more customers--make the site work-period. Its the only site out of many that I have had a problem with. I shouldnt have to decipher what "Available" means. Its either in stock or not. Its a simple thing actually............

Patrick, I feel your pain. Some guys here explained the "in stock" vs. "available" thing to me, and so I've learned to work with it. HobbyEasy.com, for example, is better about monitoring its stock, but their website is slooooooooooow and hard to work. For example, you can't easily search an item and a manufacturer like with LM.
It's a zero-sum game from where I see things.

Bill--I understand what you were trying to say and wasn't trying to be a smarta__ in my reply so I hope you didnt take it that way. I have some tolerance when it comes to waiting and I am glad that people have gotten great service from them. I guess I was just saying that it is possible that someone may experience delays or long waits if they arent sure how the site works. They do have great prices which is what drew me to that site. I intend to use their site again but will verify whether the item is in stock before ordering.

No offense seen nor taken. That's what makes this site so valuable: teaching one another "the ropes" about the way these sort of things work. You and I know, and maybe someone lurking will now know, too.
