I have the kit to build a warrior mcv in iraq, i have painted it all apart from the stowage rack on the back of the turret. I have not fully built the rack as it kept snapping and the mesh would not glue correctly, is it possible that warriors in iraq did not have a stowage rack on the back of the turret due to battle damage or by having it removed?

Thanks

Unfortunately, not likely. All have it as an integral part of the vehicle. You could show it mangled and damaged, along with other damage to show a hit though. What are you using to glue the mesh? A little superglue will hold it right in place. I had no issues with it breaking on the two I have built as well.

Good idea about it being mangled and the like.

It kept breaking at the join between the side part which you have to glue to the back, i didnt have any super glue left when i tried it so i will try super glue.

i'll look out for the turret basket thanks for the heads up

is there any after market PE that would make a better replacement?

I am not sure about an after market replacement for the basket but i did see that the slat armour conversion kit does not take the basket as it is replaced for the turret armour.
I found it helps if you glue one the side sections to the front first, then glue the bottom in place and finally add the other side and fill in the mesh. Also i have just finished super glueing the basket, the super glue helped alot with the waiting time as it glued the mesh almost instantly. Which is great!!!

If you have any other questions just add them in this thread or private message me.

tracks snapping?

i've read somewhere that the suspension arms are best set 'flat' rather than the angle as in the kit.

look at this blog on the military modelling site

http://www.militarymodelling.com/forums/postings.asp?th=17049 , enjoy

one of my top sites i like to visit along with here of course.

Yes the suspention arms sit to high you have to chop them down so you can lower the arms into the correct position.

My tracks didnt snap thankfully, i havent chopped the suspension arms.

Newfish, do you have any images of the suspension? and will the tracks have to be shortened or not?
