Hi All
Have just been watching a video on youtube of the RSDG live fireing their
chally's in basra and from what i could see they had what looked like the american TUSK side armour panels mounted. Can any one confirm if this is correct or are my eyes playing tricks on me?

In the video for sure the side hull armour has been upgraded...wider modular armour blocks on the hull side and it looks like some thinner armour to protect the road wheels as well. They also have some additional equipment for IED countermeasures and the RWS mounted on the turret.

The glacis plate add-on armour is covered but this was upgraded a while back.....at least back to 2008.

Do you have a link to the vid? i did read that the challys were going to be fitted with the same armour as the wrap2 warriors have?

It definitely has different side armour mounted must be an updated armour package for the chally?

That is the video and now ive watched it on my pc rather than my ipod, they are not the same as the accurate armour set. It has the thick backing plate the same as the wrap2 on warrior and what looks like double blocks on top like the abrams side tusk armour.

What does everyone else think?
Whilst on the subject of Chally 2 does anyone know when the new Trump kit is coming out?

Pics of those Chally's during the live fire have surfaced all over the net, additionally the latest issue of Tankograds Militar fahrzeug has an article on the latest upgrades and some pics of those Chally's.

It appears that the reactive armor on the hull sides, completely replaces the old Chobham armor skirts. As Jason said the front armor has been fitted to upgraded chally's for a few years now, a mate of mine photographed some down in Bovy two years back with that upgrade. Additionally there appear to be anti IED devices and camera's fitted to this area. Chally certainly looks pretty mean with these new add on's...
