They can still be used. A lot of Russians still wear the old type of boots. Also all the equipment is still being used.

If you look there is a mix and match of gear but still using a lot of the same gear.

Main "problem" of those figures-old type of Y-suspender.If you can delete this suspender or cover body with Flak vest,for example-of course,you can use it on 1990-th.Trousers,Jacket,hat are the same.
