Hi all, I am very eager to buy either AFV Club's 155mm Long Tom or 8" Howitzer. Has anybody had any experience building any of these? Is one better than another?
They both carry a hefty price so I would like to reassured of the quality before I dive in.
Thanks
Symon

Hey Symon, welcome aboard! Glad you found us!
I have and am building the M59 Longtom. I love it. Great detail, nice fit, clean crisp moldings.
Aluminum barrel to boot too! I would definately recommend it.
I don't have any knowledge of the M115 8" Howitzer, but I hear it's just as nice.
A cool looking piece of arty!

Here's a bit of a review on it by Martin Dogger:

And here's a review of their (AFV's) M115 8" Howitzer by Peter Brown:

Let us know which one you decide upon.

Maybe this will help make up your mind. If your into figures AFV/HobbyFan makes two figure sets for the M59.
Tell me that does'nt look cool!!!
I don't know of a set for the M115...maybe in the future.

Either one of those would be a drop fit for a dio. I know you can buy Hobby Fan from Japan, but do you know of any North American (preferably Canada) websites where I can pick some up?

Symon, I just found this sale going on at Phoenix Models for the M59 @ $27.79!!! I don't know about shipping costs, but it's the best price I've seen on this yet.

Thanks Kencelot for the heads up! But I just did a currency coversion and with our weak Canadian dollar , it actually costs a few dollars more than up here.
But the good thing is, the more pictures I see of the Long Tom, the more I want it! And since the I found the 8 inch Howitzer for a few dollars less, I'll probably pick up both of them :-)
Thanks for all the help Bud!
If you ever feel tempted to show off some of your Long Tom pics, I'll be a happy candidate to screen them!
