Perfect Scale produces a number of aftermarket parts for the Revell "Kanonen-Jagdpanzer".

+ New upper hull
+ New tracks
+ New roadwheels
+ Tools and etched parts

While I have found a piece on the tracks I haven't heard about the other parts. Most interesting for me are the "Tools and etched parts" and "New roadwheels" since they can be used for both the KaJaPa and the new "Jaguar" ATGM tank due this month.

Anyone used them and can give some information on quality and (in case of the tools/etched) what's in the kit?

Try a google search here or at Missing Link, I'm sure someone already made one with the add-ons you mentioned.
If I'm correct, the modeler gave up with the tracks but I don't remember why.

EDIT Here is the link https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/125777&page=1

Thanks for the link, that's the piece on the tracks I mentioned. Sadly that (and one content overview) is all I have found so far

Well, I have gone ahead and ordered two of the upgrade sets:

  • Barrel
  • Tools and minor PE-set

Barrel

One-piece resin barrel cast around a metal rod to prevent sag. Needs some minor clean up in the muzzle break and muzzle. Fine casting details, no seams.

This is one of the AM parts you CAN do without since the two-part plastic barrel can be done in a good fit with some care and some filling/sanding. But for the price (8€) and the rather minor clean up time (around 5 minutes) it's a part worth considering. It's that tick better than the kit part and shows it (muzzle details) and spares you some tedious and boring work.

Tools and minor PE parts

Resin-Replacements for the tools and the rear light clusters plus a small PE-sheet with mudcards, canister holders, hinges, tool-clamps etc. Finely detailed tools and a well-detailed PE set. Comes with a A4 instruction sheet that is less clear than the ones in the new Eduard sets and needs some more cross-checking with the original model

Not yet sure about this part. For 17€ it seems to contain relatively few parts (25 etches, 5 resin) but those are of a fine quality. I'll have to install them before I can fully value them from a cost/benefit ratio. If they hold up to the looks, I'll have to get another set for the Jaguar that somehow sneaked into my stash recently

I think the tracks make the most difference as they are really poor on the Revell kit. I bought the Perfect Scale tracks.

About the barrel, there is also a metal one from RB Models, bought mine from the Blast Models shop for a mere 7,40 Euros!

Did they fit? Some reports had problems fitting the replacement tracks on the kit road wheels/return rollers.

I think the most essential replacement part would be the upper hull since the commander's hatch and loader's hatch are incorrect and in my opinion more noticable than the track.

The RB barrel looks great. I'm debating whether or not I could graft on some scrap Leopard 1 hatches to fix the kit.

Actually with the hatches closed I need to be extremely close to the model to realise the errors. It's only with the hatches open that this get's an issue. And at that time there are quite a few more things to care about.

Thanks for posting the news and pics about the barrel C_JACQUEMONT!! I have this kit and while I may not replace the superstructure and tracks, the metal barrel will be nice to have.

Some more on the etched parts set:

+ It replaces the front/rear mudgards with 4 (rear) and 5 part PE-pieces

+ It replaces the tool-holders, even adding the raised parts to hold the hammer, pickaxe and prybar. Tool-holders are from single part to 3-part

+ It replaces the jerrycan holders (1 part per holder, 2 holders) and the spare track holder (three parts)

+ Rest of the parts is tool clamps

+ The PE is a bit thicker than the average Eduard-Set (Same as the PE Trumpeter includes in the LAV-kits) and can actually be soldered quite nicely

+ The bend-lines are a bit less clear on some pieces (Tool-Holder, Jerrycan-Holder)

In addition to the PE it includes a number of resin pieces:

+ Replacement rear lights This parts are nicely cast but take some care to remove from the plug without breaking of the attachment "legs"

+ Replacement Saw, Boltcutter and pickaxe in fine detail

The problem with the tracks isn't so much inaccuracy (at a pinch they could be one of the types that the KaJaPa used) as just general crapness. Each side comes in two parts (why must they do that?) and has an unholy combination of hard vinyl and soft detail, instead of the other way round. Result: something that looks like a bracelet and touches the running gear at only four points, until the joints give way and a quarter of your track run disappears up the Hoover.

I have not attempted to build my set yet. I am not sure if other FRIULMODEL sets come with the same differing end connectors as this one does( never used Fruil's before) . You cannot just pin together a straight run as the tracks end connectors, on the tracks that go around the Sprocket, Front Idler, and where the tracks first and last make contact with the ground are at an angle not 90º. Probably done to make it more realistic. The instructions do not let on as to how many links per run so trial and error will be necessary. Hope this makes sense

I promise I won't count your links if you don't count mine.

I have had my kit for 7 years now waiting for something easier than those Perfect Scale tracks and/or using the kits offering.

Now (like many other things) I need to get a set to start that kit... finally!

I'm wondering if the guide horns on the Fruils are accurate.

i have used the Jagdpanzer Kanone Upgrade Kit from PSM, RB Barrel and the frul tracks, did not think it worth the wheels from my prospective and what I wanted to do.
It is worth the spend on on the tracks and The PSM upgrade as comes with corrections for some of the other issues of manufacturing, sorry I do not find it easy to post pictures on this site,

They don't seem to be entirely accurate judging from some photos found in the Internet, particularly at the base.

Thanks Vodnik. Might still be the closest to being accurate.
