oh no, no dark side for me!! i find planes immensley hard
the finishing has to be so spot on, i cant do that atall
in a smaller scale its more forgiving, but its mostly gonna be groundwork sxperiment for mw

Nice start with the kit. Are you planning on showing some battle damage to the aircraft, maybe some holes in the engine area? That'd be cool, and hint at how it ended up in it's predicament.
Thanks for sharing, looking forward to seeing more of your progress.

hey Tim, the front is pretty hidden, but im gonna do some oil streaks coming from the general area, the reason th eprop is not damaged at the mo is the engine stopped mid flight in tht position, so it wasnt damaged, althought the landing was light, it is gonna end up tail around 30-45 degrees in the air.

Hi James - http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3653/3508126394_59e24aa007_b.jpg sadly I can't see your pix, could you please re-post, I have just brought these little gems, however for the scale 1-72 as stated, they're just slightly on the large side, but nevertheless a great little subject matter.

Don't try and beat it, James.
You've done some outstanding work already. Aircraft are a total different breed then armor subjects.
You'll do fine.
I'm having one of those "I'm not worthy" days myself as of late.

James,
May I point something out with the Camel?
The whole aircraft was fabric and it would look good if you showed some bullets holes in the wings, "walking" from right to left or left to right, to the engine.
And prehaps some on the body itself and tail section.
Of couse, this depends on from which side the attack came from to cause the damage.
Just food for thought.

sorry the pics are dark, i have damaged the plane, and am haveing the upper wings collapsed, i do want the left lower wing to be crumpled back, but i dont really think would be able to manage that!
oil dot method has been used, forsome reason, i love that, makes me feel more professional, ( even if my armor looks better than the planes )

Now that's what I'm talking about. Excellant work, James.
Don't forget to show the upper/lower wing supports damaged, snapped cables and cross members.

hey Brian, cross members?
i qas gonna do the wires and supporsts but what do ya mean by cross memebr sorry for bein dense!
ah damnit the lhs that supplied balsa planks has closed, so im gonna have to dig through the house for proper trenching materials, im gonna coat the base in a plaster, earth paint, and bits of textue( ballast and railway cork) and coat it entirely, carve out the landing spot, and constuct a trench, the trench it the part that worries me the most.

well i ahve located a place for my corrugated strip, and added soem shoring and a small amount of debris wood. and soem supports for the makeshift MG position.
the story behind "half a trench" was the earth nearby has been torn up by shelling, the barbed wire has no barbs, as its really small to do in 1/72.
here are the supports
and where the corrugated iron is
you can notice the wire that has been dragged by the aircraft as it landed
