I am on my first Russian WW II kits in years. Needs some guidance on replacing the current rubber crappy track on the Tamiya KV 1 C with something a Soldier would be proud to have on his model. Your comments and advice are kindly solicited.
thanks

Hi.. One word. Friulmodel. They are white metal track links sold by several dealers here in the U.S. They go together just like the real thing and the 'sag' is already built right in. I get mine from R and J Products. Check out ther site at http://www.rjproducts.com.
Take care. sgirty

DJ -- I would go with the Friulmodel tracks on this one. I have a set of the MK links for the KV and am a bit disappointed with them. Typically, MK links have no ejector pin marks, but their set for the KV has 2 big ones on every link.

Friul tracks are good...
but the...(spiked wheel at the rear, don't remember the name) provided by Friul has the right number of spikes and doesn"t fit into Tamiya dot..........
Try to centre it with a rod.
KV-1C is a wrong designation provided by TAmiya in order to stick to other KV-1A & KV-1B
I don't remember xhich one they designate as "C"; but the rounded turret is a "KV-1 mod.42" (or late '41) and the one with bolted plates on turret and glacis is a "KV-1E" E for Ekranami (reinforced)
