Hey hey.. my first post here. I have a question I answered in another forum, but it might not have been appropriate to post it there although it did have to do with the Barberossa Group Build going on at this time.
I am constructing a Leichter Panzerspahwagen SdKfz 222 (Tamiya 1/35th scale). What color is an axle and drive shaft on the underside of the 222? I would think primarily a gray color, metallic gray maybe. Can anyone advise?

Well an easy way out....is if you are going to weather the 222 with dusty appearance...you could just paint the axel flat black, or body color of the vehicle, and just weather it with the rest of the 222. I usually just paint the axels the overall color I paint the vehicle...since I'm not showing the bottom...it's not a big deal....but to each their own.

Thanks. That's pretty much what I did.. stuck to the basic metallic silver with sort of a darker dull metallic grey for the transmission and black for the engine block. Don't know how much will show.. if any.
