hmmmm all depends on the division you want to represent!off the top of my head a division would use one type of tank as its main vehicle, the 7th Armoured using the cromwell. The Sharpshooters deployed at VillersBocage had troops of 3 Cromwells led by a single Firefly,4 troops to a squadron,3 squadrons in totalThe RHQ troop consisted of 4 Cromwells only.I think that units did stick to one type, changing as better marks became available but mixing could have occured

I am not well qualified to comment having only recently taken any interest in things that go bang but the impression I have gained is that there was a mix of equipment. This would seem to be consistent with the pressure of war. I hardly imagine that a collection of 'obsolete' tanks would have been parked up while a regiment or whatever awaited a full complement of new vehicles.

You certainly wouldn't find Sherman's and Churchill's in the same units. The Churchill was assigned to independent armoured brigades, due to its specialised infantry support role, which were attached when the need arose.

You may find that some troops may have used different vehicles, but in general you would have a sherman regiment, a cromwell regt. perhaps with stuarts as a recce troop. HQ troop may well have included an arv or similar for recovery purposes.
