I'm suprised no one has commented. You did a great job with the old kit. I like how you commented on your techniques as well.

Thanks Russ,
I post this one and the Honey M3 the same day, but this tanks was ignored for the most part. I didn't do a whole lot with this kit, just replacement stuff.

I enjoy seeing these older kits being built.
You did a nice job on it Mark.

Wow - nice OOB build. Sorry I missed it, still scratching my head at that...
What OD paint did you use?

Rudi,
I start with Tamiya Dark Green, making sure I have full coverage. Then I over spray it with Tamiya Khaki Drab, placing heavier coverage on the broad, flat surfaces. A pin wash if MIG Dark Wash and then I rub on Tamiya pastels from set A... the greenish color.
For now, I have settled on Tamiya Khaki Drab for my US vehicles. I have the Life Color set, and I picked up Testor's Faded Olive Drab, but I have not worked with either yet.
Dave,
I appreciate these old kit too... especially their price! I built this kit, the Academy Honey and the Tamiya M3 all at the same time. They were all a joy to build and finish.

Hi Mark,
Thanks - I appreciate you taking the time to detail your painting process
People can say what they will, IMO these older Tamiya kits are still fun to build (I'm busy with the M8 HMC).

Hi Mark,
Well I spotted one of the three. Nice work on the M3, always liked that tank. Your M5 looks pretty good too.
Nice work.
