The cork I use is rather thin and is used to lay on the bare concrete before laying down a wooden floor - it dampens the noice and makes the floor a little springy so its not that hard walking on.
You can propably find it where you buy carpets and floors.
Sometime you could get cork floor made as tiles that you glued on - but I think they are pretty much out of fasion so that might be hard to find.
Cheep cork coasters ??

I have found rolls of cork at hobby/craft stores and office supply stores too. Not sure if equivalent inventory stock in the UK, but that's where I'd look.

Ikea and other shops that do table settings, often have place settings that are made from cork. They are approx 2mm thick, quite large and good value for money. The variant that IKEA have at the moment, is very fine cork, and is the most suitable. You can also get underlays for hot pans that are thicker. These are useful for heavier stone work!

Hi James
Find a model railways shop stocking Jarvis Countryside scenic products. They, hopefully should carry cork sheet in a roll. I got my roll, 914mm x 610mm x 1.5mm thick for £3.75. Reference JCS116L.
If you want Ikea for the suggested supply they have a new one at Southampton if you venture up this way although I doubt if your Waggon train would get past the hostile Indians at Dorchester
All joking aside if you do go to Ikea check out the worklight Tertial, bargain only £6.84. Sold out when I went. Want two for the workbench. http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/40370283

Haven't got a link or product name for the Ikea ones by any chance Frank have you? I checked out the web site but no luck.
