The Tamiya kit is quite old. The AFV Club kit is much newer and better detailed.

Here's a thread on the set.
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/135105&page=1

When I looked up the conversion, I saw it mostly uses just the lower hull. So why waste most of an AFV Club kit when a cheap Tamiya can be the donor? Well, it seems there is shrinkage on the Legends sets (the earlier ones - they seem to have fixed it for later kits) so the Legends upper hull doesn't fit the Tamiya lower hull. It sounds like the thing to do is to use an AFV Club Centurion (I'm guessing the '73 version) and toss the Legends upper hull.

Why not buy the AFV Club Shot Kal & fiorget the legends conversion? Any nmodifications you want to do to make the exact version of Shot Kal shuld be easier starting from a styrene kit.

Luck Model has them for a very reasonable price at :

Totally agree, is better to buy the AFV Club Sho't-Kal, it has some details missing, but I will be easier to modify. BTW, the Tamiya kit has several dimmensional accuracies, when you compare a Tamiya Centurion to an AFV Club one, you'll notice that the AFV Club kit is way bigger than the Tamiya offering. If you want tome advise about AFV Sho't-Kal, send me a PM. Best regards.

José.
