If you'd seen the cut-offs they put in place at (Trade/Press) events like Nuremberg - I doubt you'd be worrying too much about saying (mildly) nasty things about them. Even the bricks that have been thrown in my direction by DML's pet poodle, show that companies like Dragon are damned aware of what's being said and talked about.

Tamiya are a monolith who don't give a monkey's about their plastic kit range and throw a few crumbs to the modeler every year - and people are STILL grateful? ..

So, if I am following this thread correctly, Jim, you are saying that because you don't like the way you have been treated by Tamiya, it is okay to disparage their products? If you don't like their stuff, that is fine, but to write something up and insult it at the same time, doesn't seem to me something the "Managing Editor, Newsdesk" should be doing.

If this was a News report I could understand everyone getting their knickers in a twist over Jim's comments, but as this isn't a News report, Jim can be as cynical as he likes.

I thought I was safe from all this crap talk (getting quite trivial now) here in the diorama forum.

Andy, you are probably right, since it isn't a news story, it IS different. Upon further reflection, it would be unfair to deny the editors the right to have and express opinions. (Okay, so that is self evident. I guess I am not at my swiftest today.)

Jim, sorry for jumping on you about your story.

Chas, sorry for contributing to the messing up of the dio forum. Seeing as I spend most of my Armorama time here I will try in future to contribute in a positive way and not gripe.

Okay, I saw the original post at work at about 5 am my time. When I saw it was a Tammy product that was unusual me, being the dumbass that I am immediately thought of the the Tammy "Bread in a Can." That is pretty unusual as far as I am concerned. So, in my haste I posted a picture of the "bread in a can" with a somewhat snarky comment. I meant no offense and sincerely hope that everyone at Tammy will except my sincere apology for the the offense, though I meant none. I also would like to apologize to Jim for the the thread jack.
I would also like to make a blanket apology to anyone who thought as a staff member of this site I was actually entitled a sense of humor. It won't happen again, trust me.

No Shaun, no apology required. Rather it is me who should be apologizing for daring to ruffle feathers in such a manner. Like Shaun, and looking thru the fine-print on my copy of Staff Rules and Regulations, I came across this:

At NO time must Staff Members show, Sarcasm, Cynicism or demonstrate even the most rudimentary sense of humor...

No, as someone pointed out it WASN'T an 'official' News Item and it only shows that some people have so little to do that they will analyze EVERYTHING down to the last semi-colon in the hope of scoring some (mysterious) points.

Now Dave, YOU don't want to be accused of having a (Gulp!) sense of humor either? Remember the dignified position we occupy...

I made a comment. Looking back at it I realized that it was an unreasonable one to make. Realizing that, I apologized. Full stop. No caveats. No excuses. The response I get? I seem to be accused of having nothing better to do than figure out things to complain about. How does that help this board?

@ Matt, your comment was NOT the subject of my response, your apology (though totally unnecessary) is welcome and appreciated . Rather I was taking exception to the comments from people who should, frankly, know better.

@ Neinmonia. Par for the course with your responses...

Jim,

Ahh, the perils of written communication. Thank you for your response. Misunderstanding sorted.

They got it from Gucci: "put stripes on anything and sell it."
