Amigo--if you can not locate one here, try HobbyLand Japan. I know they have them in stock. It will take a while to get it, but they are relatively inexpensive and reliable people to deal with. Hope this helps.

There is a fourth one, the T-34 1942 model. It is similar to the 1943 model, but uses some different parts. It's done in winter white on the box top. I am not a T-34 expert by any means, but I have heard that they are not the most accurate T-34 kits around and the DML ones are better. I'm not sure about the Italeri ones and how good they are. I hear they may be from Zvezda. For the record, I do have the T-34/76 w/ChTZ Turret, but have never opened it. It ran me $15 so look around before you spend serious money on one of theTamiya T-34s.

Thanks Rob, I forgot about that one.

I quickly checked hobby Link Japan (I'm suppose to be really working). They have the T-34 listed as a re-issue for $37.45 plus shipping The scale is listed as 1/25. Is this a mis print on their part or is it really 1/25?
thanks

They did reissue their 1/25 scale T-34/85. My local shop had it. The 1/35 versions are usually readily available.

Hello, I found 3 T-34s from Tamiya:

tam35049 T-34/76 Tank 1942

tam35059 T-34/76 1943 Model Russian Tank

tam35138 T34/85 Tank

I hope this has some help,

I am guessing that someone out there made the Tamiya 1/25? Is it that much bigger than the 1/35? I have not seen a 1/35 T-34 in my neighborhood. How much are they running? If you have a Tamiya, do you want to swap for it?

Hey Tazz,

If you buy the Tamiya kit definetly get the one with the Russian Assault Infantry set. That will help spice up Tamiya's rather poor T-34.

I built mine out-of-the-box about a year ago, and it fell together very well. The shapes look accurate, but the kit is very simplistic and old. The real tank was very simple as well, so I don't think we can pass too much judgement on Tamiya on that one. Anyway, hope this helps you.

Cheers,

I've got the t34-76 kit and the infantry assault team waiting somewhere on my shelves...
And it should do a fine dio, with the infantry packed on the back of the tank, looking for cover...

Reimund--any chance you will post some photos of your work? I have the assault set sitting on the shelf and would like some inspiration to do it.
thanks

I ordered the Tamiya T-34 (1/35) with the assault crew from squadron.com (one of my b-day presents). I figured Tamiya was always good (but even one of my aircraft, a Zeke, had some raised panle lines). I hope I didn't waste money, it wasn't cheap.

Is there a better manufacturer?

T-34 tragedy?!? :-)

I'm sure the Tamiya kit builds easily, and looks like a T-34.

For a late WW2 T-34/85, the DML kit is the cat's meow. Shanghai Dragon's Korean War T-34/85 is an identical kit, and costs about $15 from Greatmodels or other internet sources. I have one, and the moulding is wonderful.

I've built the Zvezda T-34/76. It's a nice kit, and from what I've gleaned off the net, it's pretty good dimensionally, except the nose may be too pointy! The kit rubber-band tracks are awful! I bought a set of DML T-34 waffle pattern tracks, and used those. They're a late version, but an early model tank could have survived long enough to get late model tracks (this one did!!). Those tracks go together easily, require almost no cleanup, and are an ideal set if you are new to indy-links (a general comment!).

Maquette have some new indy links for early T-34s. They suck. No internal detail, and the links don't look like the picture on the box, or any tracks I've seen in pictures!

The Maquette T-34/85 is supposed to be a good kit too. Basically, from what I gather, Tamiya make the worst T-34s with respect to historical accuracy and scale dimensions. As I said above, though, I bet the kit is easy to assemble, and looks like a T-34!! It's your choice! I've certainly had some fun with kits that have "universally" been dissed as dogs/pigs/whatevers!
