ok,i gave in and purchased DML's M3A1 halftrack,so i shelled out £50 at the LHS.However on opening it I found that the front cab still carries the round rivets (it's the same sprue as the M2/M2A1 kit)
now this wouldn't be a problem (knuckle down with the magnifying glass and a fresh #11 blade)but i bought the DML M3 75mm GMC 6 months ago,for £35,and this included a new sprue with correct dome head screws,so what gives?has the M3A1 been lurking around since the release of the M2 and DML has decided to send it out now?

let me make it clear this isn't an anti DML rant,I love their halftrack series and i made the decision to buy the M3A1 now rather than wait for shows/cheaper overseas vendors but if DML corrected this in a previously released kit why haven't they done the same here?is there anyone i can contact(i'm in the UK) who can provide the updated parts?

maybe it's the easy option but as kits include more and more 'aftermarket' parts and the price rises to reflect this i'd like to think i'm getting everything i pay for and this appears to be an important omission since they are aware of the rivet versus dome head issue........although the tyres remain 'bulged'!!(blimey, that could be controversial)

anyhoo back to the task in hand, more domeheads to be scribed!

No Steve, I CAN'T figure the screw issue out either... I don't think they've issued a correction for the M3a1 either.

As for the bulged tires, i'm afraid it's AM again... Ho, Hum....

The only thing I can figure is it's cheaper to keep the old mold for injection molding the parts. They would have to completely remake the mold for the entire sprue and all the other parts on it...and that's not cheap.
