Well, started the Centauro on Monday and I'm nearly done. Just picked up a few niggles with the kit I'd thought I would share.
1) Be very careful when fitting the PE parts 12 and 13. They're the wrong way around in the instructions! Part 12 should go on the right side and vice versa
2) Fit of the rear plate is a bit fiddly. Had to threaten it a bit to fit LOL .
3) Those polycaps supplied for the wheels are a bit loose fitting, making my wheels point in all directions.
4) PE parts 7 and 8 go with PE parts 12+13 and 1 respectively. They are the inner braces and the instructions don't indicate them.
5) Parts D1 and D2 are very uncooperative when fitting. I snipped off the tabs on the back and eyeballed them in place.
6) The spaced armor mounting rods are fiddly to put in place so be careful and patient.
7) The mantlet dust cover is a nightmare! Too long front to back, too short left to right I think? I binned mine and I've gone nuts and decided to scratchbuild a dust cover like the real thing. 5 hours later and I've finished the eyelets welded?? to the turret and mantlet. 34 of them .
8) The turret rear equipment rack's vertical panel, C51 is slightly too wide. A few swipes with a sanding sticks does the trick.
Tomorrow its time for the foil and lots of edited language while doing the canvas section LOL.
Hopefully I'll manage to design a template for the canvas. Will keep you all posted.
All in all an enjoyable build so far, bar the few niggles.
Cheers,
Chris
