...where I can get all the after market products I need for an afv?
To this point I'm pretty much building straight from the box, but as my skill increases I want to really try to put together a nice tank.
I'm thinking a Tiger or Panther. I want to put a nice barrel, tracks, photo etched, etc on it. (am I missing anything here?)
Is there one web site I can find all these products?

Game,
While I am no expert on online ordering of hobby items I think it's really going to vary from store to store. Just as in the brick-and-mortar hobby retail biz where there is no national chain of superstores, there is no true mega online supterstore. It would be nice. Someday I guess. Lol!
Also where you are located in the world might have a lot to do with who you will want to order from. If your looking for aftermarket items though I would first check The Barrell Store, Military Hobbies, and Mission Models.

TGame, you should try Squadron's and GreatModels's sites for fairly decent lists of aftermarket kits for a particular kit. (did that make sense?)
I know GreatModels's site pretty good. If you go there and find the kit your looking to update, either by way of manufacture or by type, ie; which war, type of vehicle, by which country...etc.
You will get a list of that tank or what have you. Click on the specific kit to get to another page where, if, there are accessories they will be listed through that link.
For example: I looked for the SdKfz 181PfKfpw VI Ausf E Tiger I, there are 233 items listed under that alone. Granted some are books and other scales, but nearly all aftermarket kits are listed.
Squadrons does a decent job too.
I have yet to find a place where all aftermarket kits are. Nothings perfect.

In addition, like Tread said, if you let us know what kit you are after, we'll be more than happy to help you locate all those AM kits for it. :-)

Ack, there's so much out there.
I haven't decided on the kit yet. Leaning towards a Tiger, not sure which variation though, maybe an early model, I don't like the later model turrets as much. I'm going to look into the kits tonight and make a decision and then I'll post which one I'm going for.
There just seems to be so much out there my head is spinning. Maybe I'm being too ambitious too soon /shrug
Look at it this way, once I find out which kit I want to build I'll ask for help with the after market items and then you guys will have a new project....me

You might want to try the VLS site as well. The fellas frim MMir are trying to get out another Modeller Guide, Last I talked to them I think he Said the list already had some 20 or 30 thousand Items. With all the garage kits coming out I'd agree Your best bets on this and other forums.

Tread---do you folks have a lead for the MMiR Modelers Guide? I'd like to take a look at that one.
TGame---- Regarding after market products, let the buyer beware. I purchased God knows how many of those and I'll be danged if I did not use half of the items. VLS makes the most useful ones for Sherman. I found Eduard rather hit or miss. I think the other one I used then disgarded was Aber. The best thing is to ask the guys in the Forum what they would get to put on a given type model. The more specific you are the better the response. You can get burnt (don't I know it) with the after market parts. Just some thoughts.

I'm thinking a Tiger or Panther.
I'd go for the Panther. I saw Tamiya's Panther at Hobby Lobby the other day, and it as a struggle not to put it into the basket...
Another reason I'd pick the Panther is that I've seen a lot more Tigers. I don't know why, it just seems to be that way.

It was $19.99
If you want, I can take a run over there and see what the model # is. I was planning on going back today anyway. (but, I would take enough money to buy a can of soda only! )

DJ - this book is being revised by the fine folks at Ampersand Publishing, updated with all the new goodies since the original printing. I've got one pre-ordered (VLS Corp) and I recommend snapping one up when it becomes available. A welcome friend on any armor modeler's workbench...

I live on Long Island and I buy all my AFV, and Aftermarket material from "Baseline Models". It is a great store, and if they do not have it in stock Don can get it. They do mail order. He has everything from Friul and modelkasten tracks to brass to barrels, etc. "Basline Models" is listed in the advertisement section of Fine Scale. They also sponser Panzer-World.net. The number is (516) 877-2426, just ask for Don!!! :-) :-)

Be careful of the Hobby Lobby Panther!!
I've only seen the old Tamiya Panther A kit at Hobby Lobby. And that's the price of those kits at my local HL. It's a fine kit for a beginner, but DML's new Panther A can't help but be better dimensionally and detail-wise. If it's one of Tamiya's Panther G kits, then $20 is an amazing price!!

Heck, with Jon's Mission Models offering the DML Panther A for $32, it seems like a waste to bother with the old Tamiya Panther A, even if you can get it for $20. At that price, I picked up the DML Night Fighting Panther G on eBay and that was a fine kit at an outstanding price.
