I got this kit last night thanks to impulse buying.
Trumpeter's Stryker ATGM.
I started of with the figure that I would like to use as one of the crew
Unfortunately, it looks too stiff. I wonder if I could use DML's Modern Tank crew instead?
Here's the progress so far. I'm taking it slow.
I'm still thinking if I'd stick to building this Out of the Box or modify some things. Decisions decisions decisions....
Since I don't know much about this kit. I'd appreciate your advices. Thanks!

Thanks for the link my friend! Unfortunately I'm a bit low on budget and looking for plastic counterparts (or rather not use them at all).
Updates:
I replaced this part since it's very thick
success! A little bit trimming on the bolt heads should be fine.
Oh yeah, there's some sink hole on the front plate that needed some filling.

How does the smoke launchers fire? I mean do they fire in sequence or all in one shot? I was thinking of replacing some tubes (or all if the fire all of them).

Stryker ATGM is equipped with four M6 Smoke Grenade Launchers. According to fas.org, it could do both - meaning firing single or all depending on the setting;-
[The M6 is a 4-tube smoke grenade launcher that will enable combat vehicles to conceal themselves from threat surveillance, target acquisition, and weapon guidance systems. It is a 2x2 tube design weighing 8.5 lbs.
The M6 provides all-around screening protection and has the ability to interface with Vehicle Integrated Defense Systems. The M6 is capable of firing all Q-STAG 401 conforming grenades. It is capable of single tube inventory and single tube firing when integrated with Vehicle]

Thanks Paul! So that means I can remove one group (4 tubes)?

Anybody got clear picture of the rear hatch with the door closed? All I've seen in primeportal have the ramp down and/or doors in open position (except the one with the slat). Thanks!

More updates:
Replaced the pioneer tool rack.
This one took a lot of time to build especially the curls on the top (what are they called?)
Shown fitted on the hull
Progress on the body. Note that I've replaced grab handles with wire on different parts.
Progress so far.
I still need detailed shots of the door and some more other things. Later on!

Updates:
These arms need some puttying to be straight.
Sink marks here. Add putty.
This took me a lot of time to modify.
With the cover on. There goes all the detail.
I'm still thinking if I'll leave one or both or none of the tubes empty so I decided to putty this up.

I might be wrong, but I bet those are tie-down loops. Hobbyboss did something like that on the edge of the AAV turret and it just looks like some sawtooth. I have yet to total decide how to deal with it, as its important they all look consistant. Some thick PE one peice part would be great....

Thanks Andy! I may put this one on hold for a while until I grab hold of Trumpeter's PE update set. I think it's much easier than scratching those parts. Hope I find them though.
What's the closest Tamiya green shade would this be? Trumpeter manual states light green, while AFV Club's manual states bronze green. Any help?

Finally! An update!
I haven't built much of the top part yet so I can freely detail what's underneath the beast
Here's the semi-finished missile launcher. I just need to add the smoke dischargers.
Finished detailing the rear part. Trumpeter had a huge error on this part - note the clear parts? That's the add-on armor Trump omitted on this kit. It was made using clear styrene (that's the only one I had).
Filled these part with styrene strips and putty
Mated the upper to the lower hull. Applied putty and sanded smooth
There's sink marks on the front. Apply putty
Replaced these damper brackets with foil. They may not look as good as Trump's PE add-on, but hey, I made it on my own!
Here's the semi finished look with most of the parts placed on
Another shot
Additionally, what shade of green closely resembles this vehicle?

with the ATGM having 4 smoke grenade launchers you would have the option of firing the upper Salvo, or the lower Salvo. So there fore you could fire the top 8, or the lower 8, or you could select to fire all 16 at once. But you could not fire them individually.

Nice work on the Stryker shonen_red! With all this talk of them I need to get my MGS one of these days.
BTW, what's the deal with the tow shackles being different colors? I see red and silver ... wouldn't they be the same color as the vehicle?

Hey guys! Thanks a lot for the response.
Richard, so the top four it is! Thanks a lot!
I know mate! I've been looking at my LHS for the AFV Club MGS Stryker. Alas, no AFV Club Strykers came to our shores (or rather, many of my folks had horded them or something). This kit was bought of impulse because of my other half. She said it looks cute so... I have to build it

Minor updates:
Something I'm really proud of
I've replaced the kit springs on the hatch with wire wounded on a piece of styrene. Took me a lot of time for just one. Two to go.
These bins?? need puttying. Real Strykers had them smooth
After sanding. Note that I've replaced the plastic grab handles with metal
I had a bit of a problem with this kit part. Note that it's hollow inside.
Which means it can be seen from underneath.
Little progress down there. I'm still sanding those gaps smooth
Coming along nicely
