I just got the Hunnicutt book on the Bradley: A History of American Fighting and Support Vehicles. This is a heavy volume that begins with WW2 turretless tanks converted to APCs, universal carriers and the high speed artillery tractors. It then goes into the M29 Weasels and the first purpose built APCs like the M59. A large portion covers the M113 and just about any variation imaginable. Also covers the shortlived M114 series. The meat of the book covers the Bradley and all variants (can you say C2V?) and the last part covers AMTRACS from WW2 to the present.

Highly recommended. The cover price is $90 but I found mine brand new for $54 + $2.79 s/h. I ordered from www.A1Techbooks.com. Order was placed 18 June, shipped 23 June, received 25 June from New Jersey to Mass.

On a similar (APC) note, and for the British armor fans...

There will be a new book due out by the first of the year on the definitive history of the British FV432 series (27 variants) of APC. I have been asked to contribute (and I have supplied!!) photos of the 1/285th scale FV432(M) that I built and that is part of my scale mortar collection. (For those that don't know that I'm 'into' mortars.)

Of course, whether or not I actually make it to print is up to the editors and the sharpness of their scissors, but I am thrilled to say the least.

Currently is in the final draft stages and is being written by British author and historian Rob Griffin, who has published (to date) the histories of the Conqueror and Chieftain Battle Tanks.

And no, there aren't any financials in this for me but ooohhhh, the chicks.
