This is my lastest bust i have applied all the tricks of the painting trade that i know on this one.(still work to be done on blending ) but overall i liked it. Iscratch built the ribbon bar and also the marksman badge. it came with medals on that side but i like the look of ribbons. i know the dress blues are a little to light but i had a bad picture i was working off of . and also when i highlighted it became even more light. so here it is fellas comment are always welcomed even the bad ones lol.

Good job. I have never done a figure, but I have noticed that in many cases, the cover (hat) appears to be too small in relation to the size of the head when viewed from the front. Is this a common phenomena or am I imagining something? You cannot take away anything from this display of your talent. Light or dark colors are an easy fix; your understanding of shading, and light and dark is very good, and will contribute even further to future success. This one, however is a winner and can stnd on its own. Can you tell me what vintage this Marine represents? I have never seen a shooting badge like that. Mine (era 1965-71) was centered over the pocket and had the "Marksman" bar (or Sharpshooter or Expert) on the top, with the cross hanging from it. This badge is one that I would be interested in ;learning about. I seem to remember that they had something like this that also carried "pistol quals." etc. but I never saw one and don't know the dates when they were issued. Great job on the execution of this bust. Thanks for the pohos.

Thank you for your kind words. it is hit and miss on the covers i have had my share of small ones but the bigger bust tend to get them right. and as for the marksman badge i had two pictures of ribbon bars and badges too choose from. once you said that it was different i looked at my photos, and found i had two dress blues to choose from one was Marine the other upon closer look was Army. And that is where i took the badge idea from . looked close and i didnt study the uniform close enough to realize that it was ARMY. i am making a new one tonight The right one is a square badge on the bottom with the bar ontop. (just like yousaid) that was my mistake and i do thank you for bringing it up .
Rick.

I would like you to take this away from my comments: this is a really beautiful build. Wait till see it with the correct silver badge. Good job.
