Hi, is there a thing like a V2 Rocket Launcher? I remember it look somewhat like the SCUD launcher. Box pics and reference photos please?

There must have been a transporter for the missiles, but the launch sites were permanent, unless, of course, I'm mistaken.

Hi there,
Yes, there were mobile launchers, mainly because Air Power made the fixed ones go away! I have read a few books and have seen some good footage of the mobile systems. They could launch 1 hour after they stopped. That was really fast for those days. If I find the sites or the movie I saw, I will post it. I have the 1/48 Mauve kit, but it is the V-2 alone. I think Revell made one a long time ago in 1/69 scale???

The reason I knew it has a mobile launcher is because of Command and Conquer. They had a V2 Rocket Launcher and it looks kinda like the SCUD but instead of raising the warhead, it shoots directly. Well, that's only in the game. Don't know how the real thing works

Whereas the V-1 was launched from fixed ramps (an later, air launched) afaik, the V-2 was always intended for launch from mobile batteries. See: www.v2rocket.com/start/start.html
(interesting, since "start" is German for "launch"). Regards, Rob
