I've seen the pictures of the latest Echelon Leopard 1A5DK set but I'm wondering if anybody makes a generic set of Danish armor unit markings and registration lettering that would be useful for a Danish Centurion and some M113 variants.
I've seen sets of a similar nature for Belgian and German Bundeswehr armor.
Thanks,
Paul

That is very helpful. I was being lazy and hoping for some similar to Echelon's "Echelon 1/35 Dutch Leopard 2s, YPR756s & Other AFV's" set but for Danish vehicles.
But from the references I've seen, Danish vehicles seem to be light on markings so I guess I just need some weight discs and the shield with the national flag on it plus reflectors.

I am still curious as to the meaning of markings such as these that are sometimes seen;
Centurion
M113
M113 Green Archer

I am not 100% sure about the markings, but I will give it a try anyway....
The centurion and M113 carries the marking of the Danish Liferegiment wich is now
disbanded. The text on the centurion probably reads 1.DEL, short for 1. Deling,
meaning first platoon. Since the markings are painted red, the vehicles probably
belongs to the first battalion of the regiment, since red is the colour of first platoon. first company etc.
The M41 are most likely from Dragoons of Jutland, beause of the dragoon helmet on the tank. I have no clue about the colours though.

Hey Paul! :-) I was trying to dig up more info on the Danish Cents! I've got the same Centurion image you've up here! And there is a slight variation to that version too... I wish there is a clearer picture of the prancing horse in that emblem (apart from those seen in the offices or not on the AFVs)... Is that a horse in the M113 emblem too? Or a different creature altogether? Too bad they were disbanded...
With regards to Danish M113s (there will be more coming when I get the chance). Bjorn at Howitzer.DK has been too kind to help me with a number of details...

The other creature seem to look like a bull to me but I don't have a clear enough picture.
A set of Danish M113 details would be great. Is that a warning label that is sometimes seen on the back ramp by the door?

Do you mean the yellow label on the ramp door? I believe I've got that sticker details covered (thanks to Bjorn's help!).

Hey
I am a former Company seargent-major from the Danske Livregiment
"Danish Life Regiment" in short DLR and i can se you are looking for
clear photoes of the DLR vehicle markings.
Danske Livregiment was disbanded in year 2000.

tank squadron called Eskadron in Danish (Blue) had a horse as ensign.
In the HQ COY, I think only Armoured anti tank had shields on their vehicles .
The shields was made at the regiments workshop by the company, they found a
soilder with painting skills, and they hand painted the plywood shields.

Hi Kjeld,
Thanks!!! Are those the actual plates that was hung over the Cents??! I've made a comparison and those with prancing horses looks exactly like those on the tanks! Interesting to know that the emblem of Screaming Eagles US 101st AB was borrowed too!
So basically, only the Cents use the horses emblems correct? Also, 2nd Deling's horses was white and sometimes black?
The Bull emblem is also a very welcomed sight - nice to see all the details in its full glory! Do you happened to have the "Devil" emblem seen on M125A1 80mm Mortar M113s seen during "Action Express 93"?
Are the shield sizes all the same? Could you please offload the H x W dimensions to me offline? :-)
All those images are a real god-send, many modellers (me including) will thank you for them! Did you recently discovered the plates? I'm always keen with the Danish Cents since the first time I saw them in books. Now it will soon become a full reality!
Best regards and thanks again for the help! Please, if you have the dimensions handy! (if not, I'll still be able to figure them out, albeit a bit of work required...) :-)

Hey Lawrence and Paul
The shields on my photoes are the real stuff, taken off vehicles from
the disbanded DLR, The old gang "former NCO" from the DLR have
formed a club, and we have been looking around for relic to put on the
walls on our club room.
The shields have been laying around in the barrack and, we send out
message to all units in the barrack to hand in all stuff whitch have
anything to do with the old DLR regiment, and we got a lot off stuff like
the shields i have shown here.
We dont have the "devil" shield.
The horse should have been blue (3 coy/sqn colour) but it is soldiers,
and anything goes, maybe they think black look better :-)
I dont know the story about the Eagle (2 COY) I can see that it looks like
the 101 eagle, I will get in toutch with old 2 COY soldiers and hear thier
story.
I am sorry to say i cannot take any dimensions of the shields right now,
the club is closed for summer, 4 weeks.
Some more photoes of the DLR Centurion at the tank museum in
Oksbøl. Sorrry i dont have more photoes of this tank.
Best regards
Kjeld Pedersen
