What's the difference between a hair brush and a synthetic brush and how do you know the difference? I always get confused.

Check out this site/link that I have (tried) to add. Gives a great explanation of the different types of sable and synthetic brushes.

Hi
I find there's not much difference between synthetic and hair brushes. I use acrylics, oils and enamels. It could be I don't have a fine enough touch, but I really don't find there's a big advantage for the expensive natural brushes. And, call me an animal-lover, but I can't abide with killing sables for their tails to make brushes for my hobby...
Cheers
Andy

If it is a quality brush it will say on it what the bristles are.
I am gradually replacing my old sables with quality synthetic brushes. They are about half the price and I cant find any difference in use.
I mainly paint with Humbrol enamels, although recently I have been using Tamiya acrylics for detailing.
Regards Dave :-)
