I uploaded photos of the M998 fiberglass "Helmet Hard Top" conversion. It turns the standard M998 4-door HMMWV into a maintenance contact truck.

I've got my class 9 (repair parts for you non-military guys) budget laid out for the rest of the fiscal year (30 Sept.) and I have some money to spend. I'm trying to decide whether or not to buy a couple of these hard tops or the contact truck modification that is used with a 2-door. These are much cheaper, but I only have 4 HMMWVs. Two of them are M966s which I lent out to a unit doing gate guard and the other two are 2-door shelter carriers (M1037) without the S250 shelter mounted. The M1037s do not come with rear seats and I would have to remove the S250 mounts to use the hard top. The contact truck mod will fit right into the back of the 2-door bed.
A unit was supposed to lend me one of their contact trucks so I could see if it would suit my needs better, but they mobilized and deployed somewhere. I'm leaning towards buying only one contract truck mod at this point.

thank you master motor mec.
One of the things I have hope to see is just what you have posted. The top of one of these hard top shells.
Could you by chance take a couple shots of the inside of the shell. So I can get a notion of the iner looks of this neat conversion. Yes the real rig is a conversion, so will be the one I do in 135 scale

If you click on the link, you will see interior photos. The inside is just plain OD green fiberglass. You can see the contrast to the vehicle color from the interior.

The roof looks like it would be fairly easy to vacuform, but you'd have to carve a master. That would be the hard part. The rest of the hard top, compartments and doors are fairly simple sheet metal. I didn't get a chance to take any measurements. I've already returned the vehicles.
