Good review Matthew of an interesting product. I didn't realise there was a market for miniature weapons. How do these compare to the 1 to 1 scale LS weapons that used to be sold?

I don't know. I remember the kits but have never owned or even seen one so I couldn't comment on it. Realized after reading my review, I got a little long winded on the history portion. I usualy try to keep that part short and sweet....ooops This is one of my favorite weapons to shoot. There is just something that makes me giggle everytime I pull the trigger. How do these compare to the 1 to 1 scale LS weapons that used to be sold?
Bill, glad you liked the "Boom" part.
Thanks for the kudos on the review guys. Much appreciated. "Q"

Hey Matt,
Good review, glad to see you enjoyed it. That's how it should be.
Yes, bummer it doesn't go "BOOM."

The LS pistols were very good in terms of detail (I would not want one pointed at me) and when fired you would get a flash and a recoil which ejected the spent cartridge before chambering the next. The rifles while being well designed in terms of accuracy did not have the needed strength to cope with handling. On the M16 the rifle was very floppy where the barrel met the body.

Nice review. It looks like a nice collectors item.
I wish you had taken a pic of it next to your hand so we could get an idea of the size.

Thnx for the review, but personally I'm a bit perplexed as to why Dragon decided to release this, I mean 1/3 scale??? As a weapons enthusiast I go either for 1/1or 1/6; the latter being the scale of 1/6 (12") action figures. I have the M-14 and M-14 SOCOM in both 1/1 airsoft replica and 1/6; 1/3 is in the middle of nowhere...

I actually picked one of these up the other day as well, and I think it would make a cool conversation piece.
I also have the previous Dragon release of the 1/3 Glock 17s, comes 2 pistols and a 1/3 hardshelled case for them. They are pretty cool as well, and feature the same action workings (rackable slide, pullable trigger, etc, etc) as this one. One thing missing from the Glock's however, is the Glock stamping on the side of the slide.....maybe a licensing issue?
These are but the first 2 in a line that is to be released by both Dragon and Trumpeter (yeah they are competing again, what else is new?) Trumpeter is supposed to do a line of 1/3 scale in the M16/M4 series, 3-4 kits I thought. They were shown at the Nuremberg show at the first of the year, but haven't heard much of them since.

Scott,
Sounds like a licensing deal to me.

Thanks for the pic, Matthew.
It looks like a nice compact size to collect a bunch of them in a reasonably sized show case.

I can see a niche for these kits. They are well detailed, look great, and can be built over a week end....maybe even a day, and would be a good addition the the "I Love Me" wall/room. Hopefully they have some more subjects planned. Would love to see an
MG-42, Thompson, MP5 and most definitley, an M-24 etc. etc. etc. I'll keep my fingers crossed. "Q"
