Thanks guys for your very kind comments. Hopefully the paint job lives up to expectations.

Those track links you're using - I bought a few sets of these years ago for about £5 per set. Are they still available?
These are Dragon magic tracks from the T34/85 premium kit. They are not Maquette´s indy tracks.

I don't know if anybody's tried this before.....I had a brainwave to get the casting texture on my T34 turret, and I tried some Tippex correction fluid and it worked a treat.
Ive heard about this before, but I use Mr. Surfacer 500. Pretty much the same viscosity ... and works the same way.

Are you going to paint with tracks attached, and are you applying a primer coat?
Yes, the tracks are cemented in place. Its not as hard as it seems. I´ll document the painting steps as this is a question that is asked very often. I didn´t bother using primer ... I sprayed directly with a Tamiya brown-mix over the whole model. This works OK, but could be sctratched off the metal barell or resin pieces if you´re not careful. I´ll just have to be careful then

This is fabulous stuff - I LOVE T34's. I'm building about 4 or 5 at the moment (lost count). Mainly Dragon and a Zvezda one like yours but with the mine roller, but I have half-built the new T34-85 from AFV club and it's a good kit with plenty of detail. No indy track links are included though, but have ordered a set through eBay. Those track links you're using - I bought a few sets of these years ago for about £5 per set. Are they still available?
AFV Club has just released two sets of individual link T-34 tracks. The early-style wide tracks are "old-school" link to link, but the later, waffle pattern track is snap together construction. They are much cheaper than Model Kasten and Friul (though not as cheap as the old Maquette non-workables, of course).
And regarding Frank's build, I agree, it looks great!

Hello Chaps. I finally got some paint on the T34. Its sprayed with Tamiya and details brush painted with Humbrols and a little oils. Only the weathering left to do. Ive also started with the base, but this will be shown later. Comments and critic are welcome as ever.

About time Frank. I've wondered about this project. The paint went on quite well! I wonder what the base will look like because the weathering depends on the setting in some sense.

Hello Sean and Rick.
Thank you both very much for your very kind comments. They are appreciated.
@ Sean: Too many distractions have slowed this down, but now hopefully the way is cleared and this has to be ready for the Swedish IPMS Open in March, or I´ll be going empty-handed. The base is underway .. and the weathering (fingers crossed) .. watch this space.
@ Rick: Thanks for dropping in and also your support. Hopefully it lives up to expectations.

Nice work frank.
Great built. Very nice paintjob... Love all the little details..;. also cool idea to leave one of the storage lockers open with all the tools in it.
Looking forward to the endresult.

Thanks very much Pat for your kind comments. I had a few long sessions cutting and placing the bricks .. and was as stiff afterwards as if I was laying real bricks for the day. Took a long time, but Im happy with the result. 1000 more bricks for the cobblestones coming up!

I always enjoy seeing your work Frank, and this build's no exception.
Great job on sexing up the old T-34 kit with all that adduitional detail, a very nice paoint job, and I really admire your patience and perseverance on doing all that brickwork. Great job, looking forward to seeing it finished. Are you still planning on having the "tankist" peering into the engine?

Thanks very much for your kind comments guys. I appreciate them. Have another stage ready with images. Will be posting them at the weekend. The second Russian crew member arrived in the post on Monday, so theres plenty to work on for now. Im hoping that this´ll be complete by March 13th ... IPMS Sweden Open is then, and I´ll have nothing else to show otherwise. Cheers.

Hi Rick. Thanks again for your kind comments. Not hours .... try weeks. Its quite relaxing actually ... and rewarding when you see it coming together. Built this over 2 weeks, but this was an hour or so every evening, and a bit more at the weekends. Cheers.

Very nice for such a lacklustre kit. I have the old Maquette T 34 1941 model. It was so much work to get it to look right - I ended up "copping out" and making it a field-mofified Beutepanzer T-34 (r)....
..wish mine had turned out half as good as this!
