Hobbyboss are about to release two more variants of AAVP7A1:
82412 AAVP-7A1 w/UWGS
82414 AAVP-7A1 w/EAAK (Enhanced Appliqué Armor Kit)
What's the difference between these two kits? Which is the version currently used?

I guess that HB will release the first one without the EAAK but basically this is the same vehicle. What is confusing on their website is the picture shown for the ref AAVP with UGWS which features the EAAK.

Although not clarified by the Hobbyboss website, I think the difference betwwen the two kits are the running gear, one will have the updated wheels (same as Bradley) the other will have the original sets, both of these kits should have the Applique Armor. You can make out the sets from the photos and pictures, ignore the drawings

I doubt that as the updated running gear and ride height is hte RAM/RS essentially a product improvement rebuild of existing hulls. They already have variant in the rangge of the the RAM / RS and I would suspect the only difference between the ones above is that one will have EAAK fitted.

Got these from various sites - too many abbreviations for this vehicle already!!!
AAVP - Assault Amphibian Vehicle Personnel
UGWS - Up-Gunned Weapon Station is an improvement added to selected AAVP-7A1 which include a .50 cal (12.7 mm) M2HB machine gun and a Mk-19 40 mm grenade launcher.
EAAK - Enhanced Applique Armor Kits were developed for the AAVP-7A1, and the added weight of the new armor necessitated the addition of a bow plane kit when operating afloat.
AAV RAM/RS - Assault Amphibious Vehicle Reliability, Availability, Maintainability/Rebuild to Standard Program has provided for a replacement of both the engine and suspension with US Army M2 Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV) components modified for the AAV.
The appearance of each of these upgrades will make the vehicle looks different.
